So it's Friday night and I'm sitting in the Southern Cross enjoying a quiet drink with a few of the extended team when I get a phone call. I check the number and see its from a customer.
I make a habit of giving out my personal number to customers, after all we claim that 'we care', so I walk the talk.
But this isn't just any customer, this is one of our Food For All customers. Our Food For All customers are a small group of Wellington families, currently doing it tough, that we are supporting for a year, with free, fresh, organic fruit and veg, so that they can stretch their small budget further and build themselves a better life.
So,I quickly answered the call, worrying just what might have gone wrong with the delivery or the produce this week.
"Hello, Richard speaking" I said.
"Oh hi Richard, it's Anne here (not her real name), I've been meaning to call. I just wanted to let you know what a wonderful thing you're doing. Not only have you been feeding me and my kids, but my parents have been sick recently and I've been able to cook for them too."
"Since getting your boxes our health and energy levels have improved massively and I just wanted to call and say thank you so much!"
I was speechless. It's been a bit of a long week and I was feeling a little 'TGIF', to be honest, but that phone call reminded me of just why I and the rest of the Organic Boxes team continue to keep pushing forward to spread our message of organic food for all.
That was a wonderful way to start my weekend. I sincerely hope you have a great weekend and if you hear from us, on email, Facebook or from Jay or Lauren on the phone, I hope you'll choose to become a customer and help us to keep creating Organic Food For All.
